when I open the invitation link, the user cannot create a password. instead it only ask for sign in password

User creation issue

Hello, kabler10-gmail-c.


I'd like to share some information about the invitation process.


If the invited user doesn't have an existing account with Intuit, they will be asked to enter the following information:


  • First and last name.
  • Phone number.
  • Password.
  • Confirm password.
  • Security question and the answer.

Once entered, they can click the Create account and access your company.


For a user that has an existing account, they will be asked for their login credentials. If they're unable to sign in, they can reset their password or recover the user ID.


Here are the steps:


  1. Have the user go to the QuickBooks Online sign-in page.
  2. Click the I forgot my user ID or Password link.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If they used their email address or user ID to verify the account, they'll get an email with a password reset link.


On the other hand, you can delete the invitation and add the user again by following these steps:


  1. In your QuickBooks Online company, go to the Gear > Manage users.
  2. Find the user and select the drop-down arrow under the Action column.
  3. Choose Delete.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.
