Access/Transfer of Quick Books Data which is there in India maintained by Subsidiary Entity to an Foreign Holding Entity by Purchasing a License from US

Dear All,

I am having a Query regarding the transfer/Access of Data from QuickBooks after 30th April 2023 by an US Entity having Subsidiary which is in India.

If an Indian Entity having QuickBooks License & the entity is an Subsidiary of an Entity which is in US, QuickBooks is going to stop the services after April 30th In India but they will  continue to provide the Services in US. Now my Query is If Holding Entity Purchase a License in US to transfer/access the same data which is being maintained by Subsidiary which is in India since the Services are going to be stooped in India after 30th April 2023. If yes Let me know what is procedure for the same.

You can use QBO US version or QBO Global version to convert data from India version. You may need to enable the multicurrency feature and set INR as your home currency.

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/US

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo

You may have 2 ways to migrate your data:

1. Utilize a migration tool

https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

Send me a private message for details.

Welcome to the Community, Stephen. It's my pleasure to share with you some information about transferring your QuickBooks data.

Yes, the access to QuickBooks Online (QBO) India version is extended until April 30, 2023. After that date, the QuickBooks products and service offerings for accountancy and small business customers will no longer be available in India. The good news is that, you can always utilize other versions of QuickBooks for your business.

QBO US and India are two different versions. If you want to subscribe to QBO US after the discontinuation date, you can transfer your data by inputting them manually into the company file you want to keep. Or, download your QBO India data, then move it to QBO US.

As suggested by Fiat Lux - ASIA above, you have to enable the multicurrency feature when using other versions. Then, set your desired home currency. You can learn more about this feature from this article: Set up and use multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.

If you have other concerns related to QuickBooks, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!

Hi QB team

Will the users in India have a read only access to the old data post April 2023? This is required for regulatory reasons

Thanks for joining the thread, @KailashIyer.

Allow me to join in this conversation and share with you further insights about the discontinuation of QuickBooks Online (QBO) in India.

Yes, all QBO India subscribers can still access their data until 30 April 2023.

All existing paid subscriptions will be switched to a free subscription prior to 31 July 2022, to enable continued use through 30 April 2023 with no charges applied.

I'd recommend downloading your data prior to 04/30/2023. That way, you can still save a copy of them to your local hard drive.

You can check out this article for further help in exporting your data from QBO: How to download your data from QuickBooks Online.

For more info about the product discontinuation, please see this link here: Discontinuation of QuickBooks in India.

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions. I'll be here to answer them for you. Have a good one.

Did you receive an error message upon logging in, Felicia?

Let's run some steps to isolate the issue so you can continue working on your QuickBooks account.

To start with, let's log into your QuickBooks account in an incognito window. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Microsoft Edge & Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Control Option P

If it works, you can go back to a regular browser and clear its cache. You can also use a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

If you still experience the same issue, check this article for other troubleshooting steps to fix common sign-in errors: Fix common sign-in errors in QuickBooks Online.

I've also added these articles if you want to add users to help manage your QuickBooks account:

I appreciate you taking the time to post here in the forum.

I understand the importance of this matter to you and your business. However, when Intuit announced the QuickBooks Online discontinuation, customers were encouraged to download their data and transition out of the product before 30 April 2023. Later that date, customers won't be able to access their data. So accessing your company file and exporting your data is no longer possible.

I'm adding this article to learn more about the Discontinuation of QuickBooks in India: Discontinuation of QuickBooks in India.
