I would like to know if there have been any limitations the number of class.

We, Yoma Micro Power Myanmar Limited, regularly record journal vouchers in our QuickBooks Online account at the end of each month. Typically, we enter around 30 journal vouchers per month, with each voucher containing more than 1,000 lines of double-entry records. For each line, we input the site ID under the "Class" field.
This process has been running smoothly from the time we began using the system up to the end of March 2025. However, starting from the first week of April, we have encountered an issue — we are now only able to input class data for up to 100 lines. Although we are still able to enter more than 100 lines in total, any class information entered beyond the 100th line disappears upon saving or when reviewing the data either in QuickBooks Online or after downloading it into Excel.
We would like to know whether there has been a change or limitation imposed on the number of class entries per journal voucher. Our team would like to continue entering class data for all lines as we did previously.
Could you please advise on how we can resolve this issue or if there are any settings that need to be adjusted on our end?

I would like to know if there have been any limitations the number of class.

I appreciate the detailed information, Thet. Let me discuss the class limitations in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and address the challenges you're facing to ensure you can continue your workflow smoothly.

First off, if you're subscribed to QBO Plus in the US region, there's a combined limit of forty classes and locations. On the other hand, the QBO Advanced plan allows unlimited number of these.

However, in the QBO Global region, there's no specific limit for either QBO Plus or Advanced.

Also, there has been no update regarding any changes or limitations imposed on the number of class entries per journal voucher/entry.

Since you can enter more than 100 lines in a journal entry/ voucher but experience that any class data entered beyond the 100th line disappears upon saving or reviewing, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to rule out the possibility of a browser-related problem. There are times when excessive cache files cause unexpected behavior in the program.

To resolve this, log in to your QBO account using a private or incognito window. Depending on your browser, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then, attempt to add classes beyond the 100th line on your journal voucher/entry. If this resolves the problem, return to your default browser and clear its cache to refresh the system. Alternatively, you can consider using other supported browsers.

Lastly, I've added this resource to guide you in viewing your sales, costs, or profitability by segment: Run reports by class in QuickBooks Online.

Please let us know in the comments below if you have further questions about managing classes in QBO. We're always here to help.
