Licencing

After collecting our licencing information, I found out that we have five separate licence numbers with 5 separate product ID's. Which explains the problem better, While they can access from there desktop installed application they will use their installed licence and product ID, but accessing the Desktop version will only avail one licence. How can we merge all 5 separate licences into a single 5 licence pack with one product ID.

I'm here to help you get past this error. There are several possible reasons for this issue and several solutions to resolve this. It could be that:

• More workstations are open than the number of licenses you've bought.
• A log file is pinned and the workstations need to be rebooted.
• A firewall is blocking the client workstation from the server.

To fix this, as an initial step, you must verify the number of licensed users that are sync to data online.

Here's how:
 

1. From the Help menu, select Manage My License > Sync license data online, then click OK.
2. From the Help menu, select Manage My License > Buy Additional User License.
3. Verify the number of Licensed Users.

Following your recommendations I found out that the server has only one user licence. Hence multiple employees are unable to use Quickbooks by connecting remotely to the server. We have 5 user license with five license numbers, we would like to combine all licenses under one license number and one product ID. How we can accomplish that.

I can share some insights regarding combining five licenses into one license and product ID in QuickBooks Desktop.

Combining multiple licenses into one isn't currently offered in QuickBooks Desktop. Intuit's standard license agreement requires separate QuickBooks licenses for each person who uses QuickBooks software.

However, if you're the only person using QuickBooks and wanted to install it on your computer or laptop, you only need one license.

You need to get additional licenses when additional people need to use QuickBooks on their computers.

Should you have multi licenses with the same version year, you may have a chance to ask Support to merge all the five licenses into a single license. Otherwise, you have to purchase additional seats to one of licenses or purchase a new license of QB 2020 Desktop Premier for 5 users. You may purchase the new license thru a partner/reseller to get a lower price.

Thank you for your reply, we have the same version year on our multi licenses. How can I reach support with a request to merge all 5 licenses into one license. I am trying the online channels, but I can't get anywhere and our partner here in UAE is requesting close to 150 USD to do that. I believe it is a simple request which can be done with a phone call and we are looking to avoid that cost as we already paid for the licenses and installation/configuration fees.
