Set Up Tax & Tax Rate QBO Philippines

How do you set up Tax and tax rate for Quarterly BIR taxes. I don't have option to select "Taxes" on the left hand side of QBO Menu, I only have "VAT" which I tried exploring but it only asks for frequency of filing and TIN, it did not ask for tax rate which supposed to be 8%. I'm using QBO Accountant PH.

Set Up Tax & Tax Rate QBO Philippines

Welcome to the Community, @J_Echano. Let me help you set up your tax rate.

A default set of GST/VAT codes is created for QuickBooks Online (QBO) users in Ireland, Mexico, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, or South Africa.

In other countries, customers can choose from a list of commonly used rates. These rates are provided for informational purposes and are not tax or accounting advice. We recommend that you consult your own tax or accounting advisors regarding the applicability of these rates.

Here are the steps to set up your tax rate:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu, open VAT tab, and select Set up tax.
  2. Set up the tax agency details including the name of your tax agency, any official tax number that has been assigned to your company, your reporting method, how often you file your tax to your tax agency, and whether this tax is meant for sales or purchases, then click Next.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete the setup and hit OK.
  4. You'll now see the Tax Centre. From there, select Add tax.
  5. Pick which type of tax rate you want to set up.
  6. Input the details of your tax rate. In case you need help with this screen, click on the Help button (yellow question mark).
  7. Hit Save when you're done.
