Split account not showing up in transaction report

Good day,

For some cash receipts, we have to split the transaction into two different revenue accounts. Unfortunately these items do not show up on the transaction report filtered on the revenue accounts. In doing a little research it appears this is a known issue. Does anyone have a solution? I've also tried this: instead of splitting the cash receipt just categorize to one revenue account. Then book a manual journal reclassing some of the amount into the other revenue account. Unfortunately this doesn't work as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Makao

Split account not showing up in transaction report

You can explore other report options or customizations within QuickBooks Online to obtain the information you need, Makao.

QuickBooks Online offers a variety of reports to cater your specific needs. These reports can be customized and filtered to provide the necessary information for different accounting tasks.

You may consider generating a Transaction List with Splits instead of a Transaction List By Date report. The Transaction List with Splits report provides a detailed breakdown of transactions that have been split across multiple accounts or categories. It allows for a comprehensive view of how the original transaction amount has been distributed, providing transparency and clarity in your financial records.

Here's how to pull it up:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Navigate to the Reports tab in the left-hand menu.
  3. In the search bar at the top, type in "Transaction List with Splits" and select it from the drop-down list of report options.
  4. Once the report is selected, you can customize it by choosing the date range and any other parameters you'd like to apply.
  5. Click Run Report to generate the statement based on your selected criteria.

I’ve attached a reference in case you want to keep the same report settings for future use: Save custom report in QuickBooks Online. It helps you access the information quickly to save time.

Drop me a line if I can do anything else for you. I’ll always be here to help, Makao.

Split account not showing up in transaction report

Thank you for your reply. I don't see the option for "Transaction list with splits". It appears to be a version issue based on my research.  I'm subscribed to the very basic plan "simple start". Will be upgrading asap.

Thanks for your help!
