Trying to apply a credit card payment to an invoice. Payment received is less the credit card fees, so I'm trying to add a resolving transaction to offset properly. What am I doing wrong? I always get the "Something's not quite right Select an account for this transaction" message, and it won't let me save. What am I missing here?
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community, 7tb. This isn't the kind of impression that I'd like you to have, and we know how much time it takes when something isn’t working about resolving transactions in QuickBooks Online. Let's perform troubleshooting steps so you can achieve this process without error.
Sometimes a cache full of history and temp files can cause unexpected behaviors, such as receiving an Something's not quite right Select an account for this transaction message when resolving entries. Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:
If it works in incognito, you have to clear the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above don't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.
Lastly, refer to this article if you need steps on how you can reconcile your accounts to avoid discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
