When we schedule a report extraction through email, is it possible to get report attachements in xlsx format and not xls ?

format of the attachement is in old excel format (xls) where we should get the new excel format "xlsx".

Let me share some information about the Excel format types in QuickBooks Online.

 

Since you've received an xls file, this could be due to the Excel program version. Once QuickBooks sends your scheduled report extraction, the file format will depend on the program's version you're using to open the attachments. Thus, to change it to xlsx file format, you can open it and save it to the format you want to use. If you're using Microsoft Excel, here's how you can do that:

 

  1. Open the .xls attachment.
  2. Go to the File menu, then click Save As.
  3. Select Excel Workbook (*.xlsx) under the Save as type section.
  4. Once done, click Save.

 

Then, you can open the saved file to another device with the latest version. You can also download it directly to another compatible device, so you don't have to change its format and save time.
