As a QuickBooks Online Ireland (an EU country) user, how should I define a Reverse Charge VAT Code to apply to Services received from "non EU" countries (e.g. the UK)?

The predefined list of Reverse Charge VAT Codes in QBO Ireland only apply to services received from EU countries and are included as EU transactions in the VAT Return report. I need Reverse Charge VAT Codes to apply to services received from "non EU" countries. Is QuickBooks planning to introduce these or should I define them myself. If the latter, how? I have done a lot of research online and can find no answers. All advice welcome. ?

Great idea you have there, @john_2me

The option to Reverse Charge VAT Codes apply to services from non-EU countries is unavailable.

I understand that having this option is advantageous to your company. This would be a great time to send your feedback to our Product Development team. It allows them to review your suggestions and possibly include them in future updates. I'll show you how:

  1. Navigate the Gear icon at the top, then choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Click Next to submit feedback.

Moreover, feel free to visit our Feedback forum page to see a list of other QuickBooks users who have already suggested this feature.

You can always tag me in your response if you have any other questions about managing your QB Time. I'll be available to assist you at any time. Keep safe!

Hi Carneil. Thanks for your quick response. I tried to submit this important feedback to the QBO product development team as you suggested but the Feedback mechanism in QBO is closed - see message below from my QBO. I have already tried submitting feedback using this community. What should I do now? Many thanks, John (eptova)

We’ve closed the suggestion board. If you’re looking to share your ideas head over to our community, we'd love to hear from you. Access our community by going to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community

I can see that you were unable to send your suggestion using your QuickBooks Online (QBO), @john_2me.

Let me assist you further and explain the message you encounter upon sending feedback. The statement refers to the Community forum where you can post if you need further help managing your company file.

Since you cannot submit the following suggestions in QBO, you can visit this link and enter your login credentials to make an entry: https://feedback.qbo.intuit.com/. Once done, our product engineers will get notified of the features that customers demand.

Please note that the more requests we receive for it, the more likely future enhancements will incorporate this.

Let me know if you have more concerns about sales taxes. I’m just a few clicks away. Stay safe!
