Can't record GST Payments

I stopped paying GST in March 2020, when my business was shut due to Pandemic. We reopened in Feb 2022 and paid GST for Feb 22. Now, when i go to Tax Center in QB and "Record Payment" it is recording as April 2021 (continuing from where i left in 2020) and there is no option to show that it is Feb 2022. My bank register doesn't allow me to select "CGST payable" under expenses, nor under transfers. Journal Entry to debit the bank and credit CGST and SGST payable accounts is not reflecting!

Can't record GST Payments

Let me route you to the right support, @office268.

Since the payment doesn't show on the correct date and it's recording as April 2021, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They have tools that can check your setting and help you record the payments to the correct year.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help (?) icon at the top.
  2. Type Talk to a human.
  3. Enter your issue or question on the What can we help you with box.
  4. Choose I still need a human.
  5. Select the Start messaging option.

The availability of support depends on which type of subscription you're using. You can check out this article for our contact information: QBO Support Team.

I've collected these articles that will guide and answer your questions about GST payments:
