Good morning. I am going through the tutorial shared by Intuit and I note that the sales taxes rate is not in our version that we subscribed yesterday.

You're able to set up the necessary sales tax rate in all the international versions of QuickBooks Online (QBO), clara-kodyafrica. I'm here to share further details about this.

Regardless of what QBO version you've subscribed to, you should be able to add a sales tax rate. Just first make sure to turn on the system's tax tracking feature from the Taxes menu. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu.
  2. Select Set up tax.
  3. Set up the tax agency details such as the name of your tax agency, tax number, reporting method, how often you file your tax, and whether this tax is meant for sales or purchases.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the steps to finish the setup and select Done.

After activating the feature, create your additional sales tax rates. Let me guide you how.

  1. In the Tax Centre page, select the Add Tax button.
  2. Choose which type of tax rate you want to set up.
  3. Enter the details of your tax rate.
  4. Select Done.

To learn more about the important reminders about setting up your sales tax rates in QBO, I'd recommend visiting this article: How do I set up sales GST/VAT rates and use them on forms?.

You're now ready to apply a sales tax to your transactions. For the detailed instructions, you can refer to this article: Applying Sales Tax to Transactions and Sales Forms. It also contains an explanation of how it works on your discounts.
