Does anyone else have issues with trying to connect to Commonwealth bank Australia

Thank you for reaching out to us, jannie. Let's figure out what's happening and find a resolution in your bank connection in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before we proceed, did you encounter some error message when trying to connect to your bank? If yes, we can perform some bank troubleshooting. Let me allow on to guide you through the process.

Step 1: Start a manual download

QuickBooks downloads the latest available transactions every day—the time depends on your bank. If downloads seem stuck, or you want the latest available transactions, do a manual download:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select Update.

This updates all your connected bank and credit card accounts. The number of transactions in each account tile will increase if QuickBooks downloads new transactions.

Tip: If you see a message about additional authentication, follow the on-screen steps to continue the update. Not all banks require this, but some do for added peace of mind.

Step 2: Check your bank or credit card's website

If downloads seem slow or stuck, the issue may be on the bank’s end. Sign in to your bank’s website to check.

First, make sure you check the URL QuickBooks uses to connect your bank:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select Link accountNote: You won’t add an account, you just need the listed URL.
  3. Search for your bank and select it.
  4. Copy the URL listed for your bank.
  5. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website using the copied URL.

If you can sign in, it's a good sign that there isn't a major issue. Next, check the following:

  1. Check your account for messages, notifications, or alerts.
  2. Look for any display issues as you navigate the website. These can block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
  3. Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

If everything looks good, go back to QuickBooks:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select Update.

Step 3: Update your bank info in QuickBooks

Did you recently update anything on your bank’s website, like your account number, username, or password? If so, update that info in QuickBooks as well:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select the tile for the bank account. Then select the Edit ✎ icon.
  3. Select Edit sign-in info.
  4. Update your info as needed.

Once your bank is successfully connected, you can review this material to help you manage your transactions to keep your book accurate:

Keep me updated in the comments if you have further questions about connecting a bank in QuickBooks Online. I'm just a reply away. Keep safe and have a good one.

Does anyone else have issues with trying to connect to Commonwealth bank Australia

@jannieandmarty

Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser. If the same problem persists, you can use one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.

The issue is with QBO. I have finally been able to contact them this morning and others are having the same issue
