I'm having a bit of trouble understanding exactly what you are referring to.

 

By 'Assign To' are you referring to the Category section within the banking tab?

 

I just want to clarify this before I give you any further advice in the hope that I don't give you the wrong advice!

yes, I am talking about the Category section. The column is labelled 'Assign To'

To change a category name.

Here's how:

  1. Select Sales option.
  2. Choose Products and Services.
  3. Click More.
  4. Select Manage Categories.'
  5. Choose the Edit option from the Action column.
  6. Proceed in doing the changes you want.
  7. Click Save or choose Remove, and click Ok.

How do I set the account name in the Assign To column on the Banking screen to only show the lowest sub-account in the Assign To column?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, however I am not selling products & services, in the banking screen I recognise money into my bank account straight into the GL account. Is there a way I can display only the account name in the "Assign To" column, and not have the parent accounts displayed as well?

Hi Sarah,

 

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

 

When you are categorising transactions in the bank feed to a sub-account there is no way to only show the sub-account unfortunately.

 

The way QuickBooks works, is if you select a sub-account, it will display the parent account first and then the sub-account beside it in the Category section.

 

For example: ( Parent_Acc : Sub_Acc )

 

There is no way to adjust this at this present time.
