If I give someone temporary access to my quickbooks can they access my bank account or pay themselves money?

Someone is creating a zapier app for me so they need to access to my QBO to test the zap.

I'll explain what happens when you grant your app developer access to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, jlyden55.

In QBO, the purpose of connecting your bank account is to record business transactions only. Your app developer can see your bank details but cannot directly access your bank account. However, they can pay themselves money if you've allowed online payment services.

To monitor their actions within your QBO account, I suggest using the audit log. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Audit Log.
  3. Use the filter section to narrow the results.

Learn more by reading this article: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, you can add users to your QBO account and customise their permissions to help you manage your books.
