Hi there, Glenda. I can see your interest in linking your bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me share some troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue.
The browser's cache may affect the connection problem you're getting. For now, I recommend opening QuickBooks through a private window to narrow down the result.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts to save you time:
Then, connect your account.
I'm also adding this article for more reference: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.
If it works, clear the cache of your main browser to remove browser history.
However, if you got error 163, an open investigation was already raised to our engineers. Rest assured they're working together to get a resolution as quickly as possible. While they're finding for a fix, you can reach out to our QBO Support. This way, a live representative can add your name to the list of affected users in this investigation (INV-80175). Once added, you'll receive an email notification with the latest updates.
When your bank is connected, your transactions will be added to the system automatically. All you need to do is to review and categorise them.
I hope we’ll stay in touch and get to work together again in the future. Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have follow-up questions. Have a great weekend!
Its infuriating but after many years of working properly QBO stopped supporting Peoples Choice Credit Union (Australia) in Nov 2022 and there is no timeline for a fix. PCCU tell me that to prevent fraud they require all requests for transaction history to come from within Australia (from an AU IP address) and this is probably why QBO is now blocked. QBO has a significant presence in Australia so you would think it would be easy for them to route their banking history information through an Australian IP address.
For now I've had to resort to the manual process of importing bank statement CSV files into QBO which is easy enough but not as good. Hopefully QBO and Peoples Choice Credit Union can get their acts together soon.
