I'm here to take care of your banking concern today, @max-clean.
There are no reported cases about ANZ bank not downloading transactions to QuickBooks. To isolate the issue, you can perform some troubleshooting steps. I'll guide you how.
To get started, I recommend visiting your bank's website. This way, you can check if they have ongoing website maintenance which might be the reason why transactions not added to QuickBooks.
After that, you can go back to QuickBooks Online and do the manual update from the Banking page to refresh the connection between your bank and QuickBooks.
Here's how:
If you receive error messages, you can use this link as your guide in fixing the issue: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.
If the same thing happens, you might need to import the bank transactions manually. Here are some references that you can use:

I am having exactly the same issue. This is the fourth time this has happened to me in the past 2 years. I have discovered a pattern: every time when ANZ updates its online app, BANG communication with QB stops or stuffs up. The fault lies with ANZ, not with QB. But for some annoying reason, ANZ expects QB engineers to fix it by referring you to them. I suggest you do the same as I have done, and lodge a formal complaint with ANZ. You will be fobbed off by some standard response and have your “case referred to some management team”. I am seriously considering switching banks. But yes, frustratingly you can only sit back, wait and keep your fingers crossed that this will be fixed soon.
This is not the kind of experience we want you to have, @Summit Music.
While waiting for the fix to be implemented by your bank, I suggest adding those bank transactions manually. You’ll have to manually download the transactions from the bank. Then, upload the file to your account.
To download bank transactions:
To upload the file to your QuickBooks account:
Here's more information on how to manually add your transactions: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
From here, you can now categorise and then reconcile the transactions.
