Why are the excel downloads showing $A in front of amounts? This makes the csv files incompatible to upload into other software such as BGL360, or sort by amount.

Welcome to the Community, @gloriam.

To isolate this issue, you can perform some browser troubleshooting steps. Sometimes, piled-up stored cache and cookies on your browser caused errors when doing QuickBooks Online (QBO) tasks. To fix this, let's start accessing your QBO account using an incognito window. Private mode prevents storing cache and web history to avoid issues when running websites. Below are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once signed in, download the data to excel again and double-check the amounts. If it works, you have to clear your browser's cache to have a clean slate. If not, I recommend using another supported browser.

Should you need any resources that you can bookmark or save for future use? You can always found it here on our QuickBooks Help articles page. Simply type a keyword or phrase of your concern on the search field or select any of the categories displayed to start browsing.

Feel free to post here anytime you have concerns about downloading excel in QBO. I will be happy to assist you. Have a good one.
