Lodging BAS

I am trying to lodge the BAS but the option to "Lodge with ATO" is not available. I only see the option to Mark as Lodged.

Lodging BAS

There are a few reasons why you may not be able to lodge your BAS directly to the ATO however, the main reason would be that electronic lodgement is not enabled in the GST Centre. To do this:

  • Navigate to the GST tab on the left
  • On the landing page you should see Connect the ATO in the top right
  • Select either call the ATO or Login to Access Manager and select Next
  • Complete Steps 1-6 and provide the ATO with your Software ID
  • Once you have done this check the box that states 'I have called and set up the ATO connection' and Confirm

Note: If you are an Accountant user the above steps will need to be completed by the client or a non-Accountant user.

If you have already enabled electronic lodgement and are still not able to see 'Lodge with ATO' the cause may be:

  • There are settings in QuickBooks that don't match with the ATO's expectations
  • The Summary is being lodged outside of the due dates
  • There are summaries that need to be lodged prior to this one
  • There are other errors that require contacting the support team to investigate
