Has anyone had trouble with the App showing different Tax Rate options to Online?

I have rules set up for most of my transactions and recently when using the app it is rejecting most of my income rules, whereas when I do them Online, they work fine.

Looking into it, it turns out that the App has (recently added) more options for Tax Rates and the Online Version which removes the defaults from my rules in the App only.

Online I have the rates:

GST

GST free

GST on Purchases

GST on Sales

However, In the app I have the rates:

GST Sales

GST Free Sales

GST Free Purchases

GST on Purchases

Out of Scope sales

Out of Scope Purchases

Now, the annoying thing is that I can't change the rules in the app to reflect these rules so have to manually change them with each entry. I also can't change the rules Online as these other rates don't exist there.

Any ideas what's going on or what to do?

Hi there,

When you say the tax rates in your app have changed, are you referring to the mobile app or is this through a web browser? If you are referring to the QuickBooks Online Mobile app, let's ensure you have the updated version of the application.

To do so, you can follow the steps below:

For IOS device:

1. Go to the Menu icon and press Help & Feedback.
2. Tap Refresh Data.
3. If you get a prompt message, "Caution. If there was a problem getting your latest QuickBooks Online data, you can refresh it now. It may take a few minutes."
4. Press Refresh to confirm.

For Android device:

1. Go to the Menu icon, then press More Options ⋮.
2. Select Settings, then Refresh Data.
3. Tap YES to confirm.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

If you are referring to the web browser, this could be you are now under the Simpler GST setting. Check this link to learn more about Simpler and Detailed GST settings:
