I'm here to help ensure you're able to sync Google customers to QuickBooks Online (QBO), rooherud.
You'll want to connect a Google account by adding a customer through the transaction page. And, the following steps outlined below will guide you through:
However, if you've added a customer using the New customer through the Sales page, you need to make the profile inactive. The Customer information window won't let you connect the Gmail account. Here's an article to help delete the customer: Manage your customer list.
Let me know if there's anything else you need with syncing Google customers. I'm always right here to help.
I cannot get the "CONNECT" gmail function , only IMPORT gmail function , when trying to create new customers please advise how i can get this function back
Thanks for joining us here today, @shaunmccullough.
I have some information about the Connect your Gmail account function. If you're accessing your QBO account with your Gmail already sign-in on the browser, you'll only see Import your Gmail contacts. That said, your Gmail is already connected.
Here's how it looks like:
If you wish to sync your Gmail contacts with QuickBooks, you can click on the Import your Gmail contacts button.

Additionally, here's a guide that covers all the tasks you can do when working with the customer feature in QBO. Choose topics that fit your concern.
Please let me know if you still have questions or concerns with invoices or customers. I'm more than happy to assist you. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks - but the process you offer wants me to download excel files and upload etc , we use to just get the list of our Gmail customers to show up in our Add+ customer function as it used to previously
Has this feature now been removed ? I dont want to import / export files
Hi shaunmccullough,
I have been playing around on my test file and can confirm that this functionality is not available anymore.
"Connect your Gmail account" has been replaced with "Import your Gmail contacts."
I did find a useful article with some step by step instructions on how you can export these contacts from your Gmail and pop them into QuickBooks.
You can find that here
Kristian.
Thanks for the advice - this is a real shame , as it was super easy to get gmail contact into an invoice on the fly - why developers decided to make things DIFFICULT is beyond me , IT was meant to make life uncomplicated , not more complicated (rant over)
As a small startup , constantly updating by exporting / importing is just not feasible time wise , i can do it faster by cut and paste
