The Include inactive filter should ideally hide the deleted customers from the customer list until you choose to enable it again, will98. If the removed customers continue to reappear even after unchecking the box, we can try troubleshooting the browser. I'll provide the steps below.
Let’s proceed with basic browser troubleshooting to pinpoint the issue. This will not only help determine the problem but also enhance the overall performance of your browser. Afterwards, restart your browser and then try logging into your account using a private browser.
You can use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:
Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
Safari: Command + Shift + N
If you successfully hide the deleted customers in the private browser, go back to the regular browser and clear your browser's cache. Otherwise, you can use another supported browser.
Additionally, for future reference, you can check out this resource on how to run and add filters to the Transaction List by Date report to see transactions involving your customers or suppliers. Here’s a helpful guide: Common custom reports in QuickBooks Online.

Hi there, yes, I tried an incognito window in Chrome, Version 135.0.7049.85 (Official Build) (64-bit). This also happens in Microsoft Edge, standard and InPrivate, Version 135.0.3179.73 (Official build) (64-bit) In all 4 instances, "Include inactive" comes back if you go through a few pages and then come back to it again.
I appreciate all your efforts in dealing with this, @will98. I'll point you in the right direction to resolve the issue of inactive customers still appearing despite being unchecked.
Since the issue persists after performing the suggested troubleshooting, I recommend reaching out to our live customer support team. This way, they can look into this further and walk you through the resolution. They can also initiate an investigation if need be.
