How can I pull in old Paypal Purchase receipts (going back 3 years) into QBO & link to basic transaction details there now. I have all the purchase receipts in email.

You can import your old PayPal purchase receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @sales194. This way, you can effectively manage your transactions and keep your account updated.

There are two types of Paypal integration in QBO. It's either through the PayPal app or the bank connection center. To pull in old purchase receipts (going back 3 years), you'll have to manually import them in QBO. Since they're already in your email, all you need to do is to format the file and use the templates accepted by QuickBooks. You can refer to this article for the complete details: Import transactions using Excel CSV files. It also contains tips on how to successfully execute the process in the Formatting CSV files for import section.

If you're using the app, you can manually import your transactions via its settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to QuickBooks Apps.
  2. Select the My apps option under your profile name.
  3. Choose PayPal, then select Settings.
  4. Click Manual Import.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

On the other hand, if you're using the bank connection center, you'll have to manually import your purchase receipts by selecting the File upload option in the Banking menu. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. In the Banking page, select File upload
  3. Select Browse and choose the name of the file you.
  4. Click Open, then select Next.
  5. From the QuickBooks Account drop-down list, select PayPal, then click Next.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Once done, all the imported transactions are displayed on the For Review tab. From there, you can catagorise or match PayPal transactions similar to your bank transactions.

Additionally, I'd recommend reconciling your PayPal account every month. This way, you'll be able to make sure your account is matched with your PayPal statements and monitor the growth of your business. For the step-by-step guide, kindly refer to this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online. It also contains information about editing completed reconciliations.
