How do I customize the design of my billable expenses?

Hello laurent_boiteux,

 

We cannot directly customize how your billable expenses looks like. However, we can set an invoice template once you add the billable expenses to the invoice. Here's what we can do about it:

  1. Create an invoice template that you can use for invoices with billable expenses.
  2. Apply the billable expenses to the invoices.
  3. Make sure you select the correct template on the invoice.

Here's how to create an invoice template:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Custom Form Styles.

     
  2. Click the New style button and select Invoice.

     
  3. Customize the invoice template through the Design, Content, Emails, and Payments tabs.

     
  4. Select Done once everything is set.

You can also import your own invoice template using a DOCX file. You can follow the detailed steps in this article: Import Custom Form Styles For Invoices Or Estimates.

 

Considering that the billable expense feature is already turned on, here's how to apply add them to the invoice:

  1. Click the +New button on the left menu and select Invoice.

     
  2. Enter the customer in the Customer field. After that, the Add to Invoice drawer will appear on the right side of the Invoice page.

     
  3. Under the Add to Invoice drawer, click Add on the billable expense.

     
  4. Click Save.

While we're still in the Invoice window, we can set the correct invoice template. Here's how:

  1. At the bottom of the Invoice page, click Customise.

     
  2. Select the correct invoice template.
  3. Click Save and close.
