How do I send a Payment Receipt to a customer please (sorry new to QB)

Welcome to the Community, @accounts-givingc!

I'd love to assist you today in sending payment receipts to your customers.

There are two ways in sending payment receipts to your customers. First, is through the Receive Payment option. When a customer paid an invoice, you can record the Payment and send it directly to the customer using the Receive Payment feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:

  1. Go to the + New button.
  2. Select Receive payment under Customers.
  3. From the Customer drop-down, select the name of the customer.
  4. Select the payment method in the Payment method drop-down.
  5. From the Deposit to drop-down, choose the account you want to deposit the amount into.
  6. In the Outstanding Transactions checkbox, select the box for the invoice you're recording the payment for.
  7. Once done, select Save and send. If you're seeing the Save and close option, just click the dropdown button and select Save and send.

I've added some screenshots that you can refer to:

       8. Double-check the information specially the email of the customer then select Send and close.

Another way to send payment receipts to customers is by creating a Sales receipt. For further details on making sales receipts and mailing them to your clients, please refer to this article: Create and send sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

Additionally, I've included an article that you may find helpful in personalizing your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
