I have an invoice to send to a customer every time I save it and send it itcomes up paid. Anyone know whats wrong.

I'll share information about invoices automatically paid after clicking the save and send button in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online has an auto-apply credits feature. Once enabled and the customer has a credit on the account, it automatically applies to an open invoice. This can be one of the reasons why your invoice shows as paid after sending. You can check if the feature is enabled and turn it off.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Accounts and settings.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. From the Automation section, click the pencil icon.
  4. Check or turn off the Automatically apply credits feature.
  5. Hit Done.

If the automation feature is disabled and you still have the same issue, let's perform browser troubleshooting steps.

The stored files in your browser can cause unexpected behavior or failures in QBO.

Your cache saves the files from many websites you visit, so you can quickly load the pages the following time. The browsing speed of websites like QBO may be impacted if the cache is retaining too much data.

It's a good idea to check for issues brought on by a full cache when browsing anonymously because doing so prevents the cache from recording your browsing data. You can

perform basic troubleshooting steps by accessing the payment link via an incognito window or a private browser. This won't store cache files that cause lag to your default browser.

Feel free to follow these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If the given procedures are successful, I advise you to clear the cache in your browser to avoid utilizing outdated forms, safeguard your data, and improve the performance of our programs on your computer.

If the steps above will not work, you can use supported browsers as an alternative.
