I have recently signed up for Quickbooks Self-Employed and can't find a way to import my customer data?

Importing customer data into self empoyed

Hi there, Moults.

Currently, the option to import customer data into QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is unavailable. The only data you can import are bank transactions via a CSV file.

Thus, I recommend looking for a third-party application that will help you import customer information to QBSE.

In addition, if you want to learn more about importing bank transactions to QBSE, here's an article you can refer to: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions about customers. I'll be here to lend a helping hand.

Importing customer data into self empoyed

Hi Archie

Many thanks for your swift response.  What level of quickbooks will enable me to import customer data?

IS it possible to change the plan?

Regards

Thanks for getting back to us in this thread, @Moults.

There is another version available that allows you to import customer data. By subscribing to QuickBooks Online, you can incorporate the following information into your account:

  • Customer name, Company
  • Customer Type, Email
  • Phone, Mobile, Fax
  • Website, Address
  • Opening Balance, Date, and Resale Number.

To delve deeper into the subject, I encourage you to read this article: Import customers or suppliers from email contacts or a spreadsheet to QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, it is also possible to change your plan. If you'd like to transition from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online, you can follow the instructions outlined in this article for more information: Switch from QBSE to QBO.

I also encourage you to review the following references to manage your data in QBO:

If you have any additional questions about bringing in customer data to QuickBooks, please don't hesitate to inform me. I'm available to assist. Stay safe!

You should cancel your QBSE account and signup for a new QBO account. QBSE and QBO are two different products. You can use a 3rd party tool to import your data starting from CoA, Lists, and Transactions.
