Hello there, simon33.
I'm here to ensure you're able to change the "Tracking No" heading to "Purchase Order No". This way, you can comply with your customer's automation processing of invoices.
The Tracking number heading will be displayed in your invoice once the Shipping field is activated. You'll have to update your invoice template in the Custom form styles page and deactivate it. Then, add a Custom field for the purchase order no.
I've attached screenshots below for your reference.
After that, you can open an invoice through the +New button to check the update.
Moreover, you can personalise your sales forms to add information that matters to your business. QuickBooks Online has the tools to create attractive, professional-looking invoices, quotes, and sales receipts. To learn more about it, kindly refer to this article: Customise invoices, quotes, and sales receipts.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
I have another way, Simon33.
Just follow these steps:
Once done, try to create an invoice, the heading should be changed.

Hi simon33,
When checking the guide on adding custom fields to invoices, this is an additional feature limited to QuickBooks Online Plus or Essentials files. If you are using a QuickBooks Online Simple Start file, this feature is not available which may be why you do not see this option. If this is the case, you would need to upgrade your subscription. You can however still remove the Tracking Number field altogether by removing the Shipping field.

I used up 3 custom field already. If BQ online allow customers to add more customer fields, then we don't need to ask change the Tracking # to another name.
Hi 1204573025,
Thanks for joining the thread! As of the moment, we can only add up to 3 custom fields in QuickBooks Online Essentials and Plus. If you would like to add an existing custom field, we can do so by following these steps.
Please note that any edits you make will apply to all forms that use the field.
For your reference, you can also check this article: Add custom fields to sales forms and purchase orders in QuickBooks Online.
