Hi elissa-coastalki!
I understand that you need to match the receipt to an expense. Let me help you.
The easiest way to find a matching entry is by making sure the details are correct. That includes the payee, date, and amount.
In addition, you can also convert the receipt into an expense transaction. From the Receipts tab, select Create Expense under the Action column.

For many of my receipts there is no option under action to match or to even search for a match. Most say "Review" and the only other option under action is "Delete". All of my transactions are already entered from the bank feed and reconciled. There are a very small percentage (maybe 1%) of transactions that do have a match option. Why is there not a manual search option? This receipt option is worthless from what I can figure unless I add the transactions from the receipt tab before adding them in any other way.
Good day, mobbarth. I'll make sure you'll be able to match transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
When matching transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you'll need to make sure you have the exact details like date, amount, and vendor.
As a workaround, we can delete and recreate the receipts. Then, you'll need to review, edit, add, or match those to existing transactions.
You can upload them from your computer or mobile device, or even from your email account.
Here's how to do it:
