Spell check is no longer present on my invoices. Can I turn it back on?

Hi there, coclch2016.

Thanks for posting here.

QuickBooks Online uses the built-in spell checker on your browser. You'll want to check the browser settings on how to turn it back on.

Also, Windows 10 has a spell checker that you can enable. These are the steps to follow:

  1. Go to Settings and click the Devices icon.
  2. Tap on Typing on the left side and turn on Highlight misspelled words.
  3. You can also turn on the Autocorrect misspelled words.

You can visit Microsoft Support to guide you in the activation process if you're using an older version. For Mac, you can read this article: Check spelling and grammar on Mac.

Check our Help Articles page for more references and guide about QuickBooks Online.

I'm looking forward to assisting you again. Stay safe!

Spell check is no longer present on my invoices. Can I turn it back on?

Hello, I have all my Windows 10 settings for Spell Check turned ON

I have all my Google Chrome Spell Check setting turned  ON

Quick Books Online still does not pickup misspelled words or do a Spell Check when typing INVOICES.....

This was a great feature in QB Desktop and now you have over thought yourselves and taken it away from QB Online.....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring it back!!!!!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Fran Grose

Spell check is no longer present on my invoices. Can I turn it back on?

Hello there, @diamond3.

As mentioned by my colleague AlexV, QuickBooks Online uses the built-in spell checker on your browser. You can follow the steps above to enable the spell checker and to turn on auto Autocorrect misspelled words.

If you got the same result, log into your QuickBooks Online account using a private browser. Your regular browser's cache might have caused this unexpected behavior.

Here’s how:

  • Press Ctrl+ Shift + N keys on your keyboard (Google Chrome).
  • Press Ctrl+ Shift + P keys on your keyboard (Firefox).
  • Press Control+ Option + P keys on your keyboard (Safari).

If the private browsing session works, you’ll need to clear your browser’s cache to prevent unexpected behavior in the product. Check out this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

You can also use other supported browsers to resolve this issue.

Please keep me posted on if you're able to successfully get past the issue. I'm still here if you need further assistance.
