Our engineers are still working with the bank to identify the new login process for HSBC, Embers00.

They're investigating the issue and checking with HSBC to see if there are any options to work around this encryption.

In the meantime, you can use the WebConnect feature  in QuickBooks to upload your bank transactions.

You can also contact our Phone Support Team to add your company details to the list of affected users.

Here’s how you can reach out to us:

  1. Click the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, click the Contact Us button located at the bottom.
  3. Enter your question and click Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Start a chat or Call us.

Should you have other questions, please let us know in the comments. Thanks.

It's fine to simply respond that we can upload our bank transactions manually . What do you think we have been doing the past year whilst this issue remains. We spend several hours downloading and converting the files then again so that QBO will accept each upload in the format it requires then sort the transactions. Please don't fob us off at $40 a month!!! Why can the bank just offer a direct feed like they do with business banking and like their other hsbc counterparts. Have the engineers offered the bank to using our customer digital secure key when during our logon?

Yes, a direct bank feed connection would be ideal, @Embers00.

I understand you just want to ensure that your HSBC bank account is connected with QuickBooks so your transactions will be downloaded seamlessly.

Currently, our Product Engineers are still working on finding ways to bypass HSBC's complicated new login encryption. This will ensure that bank feeds will not be blocked. Rest assures, that once an update about this on-going bank issue is released it will apply directly your account. Also, you'll be notified via email.

In the meantime, let's try to re-connect your HSBC bank account with QuickBooks using these steps:

  1. Log on to your Banks website via something other than your mobile.
  2. Select to change the username.
  3. You will be prompted for a security code.
  4. Via HSBC mobile app select generate code.
  5. Select the authentication code.
  6. Enter the code into the bank's online site.
  7. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  8. Reconnect your HSBC bank account with the new bank details.
  9. Generate a secure code via the app and you should be connected.
