How do I enter a split expense to show business and personal use percentage?

Or do I enter the whole amount as business and claim the percentage back as a tax deduction (motor vehicle logbook has been done)?

How do I enter a split expense to show business and personal use percentage?

Thanks for visiting the Community space, djmhunt. I'll gladly assist you in splitting an expense for it to show the business and personal percentage inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To get around this and split the expense, you'll want to enter the transaction using the Journal entry feature. These are the steps to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, click the + New button.
  3. Select Journal entry.
  4. Enter all the necessary details and choose the accounts you want to use.
  5. Select Save and new or Save and close.

For more details, please see this page: Create journal entries in QuickBooks Online.
