Let's make sure your Adobe Reader is updated, lopresti.

Updating the version resolves errors when generating reports.

If you keep experiencing the same issue, I have an article here on how to repair Adobe Reader. Just proceed to the How to repair Adobe Reader/Acrobat section of this article.

Once done, let's try to run and download again the TPAR report.

In case you need assistance on how to submit it, here's a quick guide on how to lodge your TPAR.

Let me know if you have other concerns, I'm here to help.

Having trouble downloading TPAR. tells me adobe reader could not open report because it is not supported file type or the file is damaged.

Hi Alex

I updated and repairs as suggested.

Still no luck it tells me the following:

ACROBAT READER COULD NOT OPEN REPORT (18).efile because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)

I know   this file has to be saved in the right format so I can transfer this file through the ATO portal to the Australian Taxation Office. Help what am I doing wrong.

I have been told that this file needs to be saved as an .efile.

Help I have to lodge this by a due date.

thanks for trying to help.

Hi lopresti,

Since the error persists after updating the Adobe Reader, let's have it escalated to our engineers. By doing this, you'll have to reach out to our Support Team.

  1. Click on the Help menu.
  2. Click on Contact us.
  3. Enter a topic (can't open the TPAR).
  4. Choose a way on how to reach us.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We're here to help.
