Having trouble downloading TPAR. tells me adobe reader could not open report because it is not supported file type or the file is damaged.

Let's make sure your Adobe Reader is updated, lopresti.

Updating the version resolves errors when generating reports.

Once done, let's try to run and download again the TPAR report.

I updated and repairs as suggested.

Still no luck it tells me the following:

ACROBAT READER COULD NOT OPEN REPORT (18).efile because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)

I know   this file has to be saved in the right format so I can transfer this file through the ATO portal to the Australian Taxation Office. Help what am I doing wrong.

I have been told that this file needs to be saved as an .efile.

Help I have to lodge this by a due date.

You're not meant to open the TPAR report. It is downloaded as an eFile, which is what gets uploaded to the ATO. You shouldn't need to open the TPAR report for any reason.

Your file won't open in Adobe because it's not a pdf. The devil is in the details, its REPORT (18).efile. Efiles are specific to the ATO and are not meant to be opened. You can just upload this report directly to the ATO.
