Currently, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. Although, you can check out with the integrated third-party application that may have this setup. Or you can export your report to an Excel file and modify the details you want to add. I can show you how you can export your report:
Once done, you can now add the product or service items on each transaction.
Also, here's a link where you can search for the integrated third-party applications with QuickBooks Online: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/search?searchTerm=report. Just click the Flag drop-down arrow, then select AU (refer to my screenshot below).

which report is there to export to excel that shows the quote + partial invoiced amount + the balance left of the quote still to invoice?
can not seem to find one.

Or more specific a report to show the current quote with the remaining balance of items left to invoice.

You can pull up the Transaction List by Customer Report. This contains the exact amount of the linked quotes, invoices, and payments. Then, you can manually deduct the quotation and the linked invoice in an Excel file by adding a column or row to see the remaining balance. Here's how it looks like.
