Does quickbooks have an unpaid super report?

Hi accounts364,

If you are registered with Beam to automate your super payments, you can review your paid super contributions by:

  1. Select Employees, then Reports.
  2. Select Super Payments. Input a date range if required and Filter. You can also export this report.

This will show all payments that have been made to the employees in each batch and any that may have been unpaid, rejected or returned in that date range. You can compare this to a super contributions report if you wish to see if any amounts are showing on the contributions report but were not submitted in a batch to be paid:

  1. Select Employees, then Reports.
  2. Select Super Contributions. Enter the required details and Run Report. You can also export this report.

If you do not use Beam but still record the super expenses in your QuickBooks Online file (such as in a Super expense account), you can compare the above Super Contributions report to the expense account to determine if any amounts are unpaid:

  1. Go to the Settings icon, then Chart of Accounts.
  2. Use the search bar to locate your Superannuation expense account, then Run Report. Enter your date range as required. This can be compared to your Super Contributions report so you can see if all amounts have been recorded in QBO as expenses or if you have amounts showing as unpaid.

Does quickbooks have an unpaid super report?

Hi and thanks for the reply.

I do have beam. I need to verify by employee if there is any unpaid super (a payrun system error has resulted in super from Feb 2020 being dated Feb 2019, affecting one employee for payg and super).

I have expanded each super payment batch for the periods Feb 19 and Feb 20, and then cross referenced these to a super contributions report across both periods for the employee. These show the missing super in the contributions report for Feb 2019 was not paid in any of the super payment batches. This process doesn't seem practical even for my small payroll. Can Beam or Quickbooks not provide an unpaid super notification or report like MYOB? Or a reconciliation function? (I did not pick this up in my usual Super process, the payg exception report notification alerted me to an issue.)

Does quickbooks have an unpaid super report?

I apologies for the frustration and think the idea of a notification system for super payments would be useful to payroll. Whilst the current setup is not ideal for noticing unpaid super it will be a case for our product team to consider this as an option in the future. In the mean time please refer to the reports as mentioned above by my colleague. I have submitted this feedback on your behalf and would encourage you to share you feedback also with the product team:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
  3. You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
  4. From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.

Thanks,

Steven
