Hi stroudbaps,

Maybe you could try going into the report and selecting the Gear Icon within the reports page and un-ticking Compact. This will spread the data out a little so it is easier to read,

If that doesn't work you can try exporting the data to Excel then printing, you can also email the data to yourself and try printing it off that way as well, a few things to try.

Let us know how that goes.

Hi stroudbaps,

Is the whole report, including the non-bolded parts, hard to read? Also, is the report's size spanning the whole physical page? Ensure that you have selected the correct paper size in the print settings, then try printing it again.

Let us know if the report fonts are still hard to read after following the above steps.

Hi Bonnie,

I have checked these things and the bolded parts are still smooshing, even when I save to PDF.

Emailing seemed to work.  Thanks.

I sometimes export the report to Excel, then edit the font size. But then I have to adjust column widths to make everything fit in Portrait orientation. Plus, in Excel, I can change the row height to spread things out even more. It takes time but making the report easier to read is worth it.

I also have this issue.  I've tried both suggestions of removing the 'compact' in display density function and the email - neither has fixed this issue.  Would love another solution.

Thank you for joining the thread, @JRomanoBVA.

I'm here to share additional details on how you can get the report you need.

Since unticking the check-mark beside Compact doesn't work for your end, you can perform the workaround suggested by Leilani808 above to export your report to Excel. This way, you'll be able to customize the fonts and adjust the columns of the report.

Once done, you can print the details from there.

To export the report to Excel:

  1. Click on the export icon beside the small gear icon.
  2. Tap on the Export to Excel option.

I understand how seamless it would be to have an option to adjust the fonts directly from the Report's page. Rest assured our engineers are continuing to develop QuickBooks to deliver the best experiences for all of our customers. Hopefully, this feature will be included in the coming updates. Thank you for the suggestion.  I used to do that and my auditor has requested I send out the statements to our board directly from QB.  Plus when you export them to Excel, there is all sorts of formatting issues.  Appreciate the suggestion though!

I agree the printed reports are very difficult to read DPI in the print options seems to help. I also think it is ridiculous to have to send to another program (Excel) to print a QB report! I hope they fix soon.

Hi Michele67a, thank you for your feedback. In QuickBooks Online, you can find a print button (in the shape of a printer) on the top right-hand side of any report and you should be able to print directly from there.

Please let us know if you require additional assistance on this. Thank you.

You can print directly from QBO, but the problem is the font is too small when using classes. We should be able to manipulate the font size when printing a report.

We need to be able to change the font in QuickBooks Online without exporting.

Thanks for joining this conversation, @Krista-WR. Let's get your QuickBooks Online fonts changed.

To do this, you can hold the "Ctrl" key and press the "+" sign altogether on your keyboard. Or, hold the "Ctrl" key and then scroll up to change the font size.

For future reference, you also want to adjust the font size of your printed sales forms. See the attached link to guide you in modifying the Customs Form Styles window: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online,
