Hi piker,
To change the from email the payslips are sent from please see the below steps:
Moving forward the employee's won't receive the notification from the your Gmail account rather then our QBO automated email.
Thanks,
-Steven
I tried to add my gmail address and it says its a "restricted email domain"..
Ok, I tried not adding any email address and then saving it. Will that work?
My apologies, just wanted to share the current list of restricted emails that KeyPay does not allow as the 'From' email through the article below. Overall you do need a email in place for the payslips to be sent out, or even returning to the noreply@yourpayroll.com.au. A work domain or any other would be successful.
Thanks,
-Steven
Still unclear here. Do you mean I can use "[email address removed]" and the payslip emails will be sent?
Hi piker,
I'm sorry but when you send your email address via the Community channel it removes it from our view for Privacy reasons. I am not able to see the Domain of the latest email you've mentioned.
As per Steven's reply there are personal email addresses that are restricted and will not be permitted to send/receive payroll emails. If your email address is not on this list, you can use it.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Rebecca
Ok. I have my own mail server setup on my own domain name. My domain already has DNS settings for relaying my outgoing emails only, through Amazon SES. I'm very wary about adding further DNS settings. What are my options to be able to send out payslips to my employees?
By adding in your email into the payroll system as a part of the From email address within the email notification template, this will ensure your employee's receive the pay slip notifications with your domain as the sender once you select Publish Payslips.
If you want to avoid attaching your domain to this email system for pay slips, you can alternatively download the payslips from employee's and send them outside of the payroll system. To do so you can use the steps below:
If you want to check if adding further DNS settings may impact your current setup I would encourage you to reach out to us here so we can request more info from KeyPay directly under your details.
Thanks,
-Steven
I've just discovered that I cannot change the logo on my payslips due to this restricted email setting. Quickbooks is designed for small businesses and a greater majority of these businesses will have their business email address now restricted for use in sending payslips. The restricted domains are effectively forcing small businesses to purchase a domain...or change accounting software
Hi UnblockGmailPlz,
I hope you are doing well today. We do have restricted domains in place for security reasons as we can appreciate that payroll is sensitive information, I hear you that a lot of small businesses rely on some domains on the restricted list. I will forward the feedback to our team, I also want to encourage you to do the same via Gears > Feedback, this way, your feedback is directly sent through to the Product Development team for future feature enhancements.
Without more details, I'm not sure if this will work for you but I want to help you with changing your logo setting, can you please try these instructions:
Hope this works out for you, if not, please comment on this post or our support team are also happy to help over the phone or chat. Thanks for reaching out, we value your feedback to help us make Quickbooks a better product.
Cheers,
Bowie
