In the Profit and Loss Report, the Motor Vehicle Expenses are not deducted from the Gross income to give the Nett Income for the year, does anyone know why this is?

Hi debg58,

You may first need to check how you have this account set up by going to your Chart of Accounts and locating the account. If it it not set up correctly as an expense account this will affect your reporting. You can edit the account and detail type as required by selecting the dropdown arrow to the right of the account and choosing 'Edit'.

If this is not the case, try clearing your browser's cache to be sure you are seeing the most correct and up-to-date information. We would suggest using Google Chrome for the best QuickBooks experience, and you can do so by:

  1. In Chrome, hold down Ctrl+Shift+Delete and a pop-up will appear on your screen. You can also access this by selecting the Chrome menu (top right corner, three dots in a vertical line) and clicking More Tools, then Clear Browsing Data.
  2. Select the option 'clear cached images' and make sure the other two options are unticked
  3. Select the time range All Time, then Clear Browsing Data
  4. Once this is complete, the pop-up will disappear. Please restart your browser and log in once more

Otherwise, you may wish to reach out to our Support Team directly on 1800 046 038 so they can take a look at the setup of your accounts and reports together with you and assist you in resolving this.

Hi Kass

Thank you for that information, I have just realised that the report I was looking at was the Income and Expenditure Report.  When I went back in and looked at the correct report i.e. the Profit and Loss it was showing the correct figure, so problem solved and I'm so sorry for wasting your time, the information you gave was very informative, thank you.

Regards

Debbie
