Hi Sfitz74,
Generally the full QuickBooks online functionalities support desktops and laptops in a full browser capacity so if you are using your ipad, you have to use a browser preferably Google Chrome then logon to QuickBooks from there then to "Employees" for payroll and you should then be able to do this.
Please let us know if you require further assistance.
Im on google chrome but the employee section is still not showing. Can i use ipad for my payroll?
Hi Liz281,
Thank you for posting. There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequently accessed websites or damaged. This causes unusual behaviors in the QuickBooks system or program. I suggest logging into your QuickBooks account through a private browser. This will help us determine if the problem is related to the browser's settings. Start by using an incognito window.
If it works using the private browser, go back to your main browser and perform a clear cache to remove temporary internet files on your computer. Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.
Feel free to reach out again if you have any other questions.
I tried the private browser too, still doesn’t work. I guess you have to use computer to do the payroll. Quickbooks online payroll does not support iPad.
When is this issue going to be Rectified as I am trying to do the same thing, I’m running an iPad Pro and still does not open the employees payroll
Hi Josh933,
You can access Employees tab on an iPad via browser like Safari or Google Chrome.
Here's how:
If you're encountering another login page on the Employees section, try and disable Prevent Cross-Site Tracking and Block All Cookies in Safari's settings:
Let me know if the above steps works well on your end. Have a nice day!
That’s not a fix, that’s just another unacceptable QuickBooks workaround. Fix your crap software and stop expecting end users to jump through hoops to get your software to work.
This still doesn’t work for me either. It’s been years and the functionality to use payroll on iPad is still not there. The popup about doing cookies etc is just a furphy because it just does not work at all.
payroll is the worst part of QuickBooks. It really needs a major overhaul!,
Thanks for joining the thread, Wayne24!
I can understand the need to be able to access Payroll tab through iPad. QuickBooks Online Payroll can be accessed with any browser and device. We'll have to make sure you've turned on the cross-site tracking in your browser. Let me guide you how to check it.
1. Open your Safari menu and select Preferences.
2. Click on the Privacy tab and under the Cookies and website data section, untick box for the Block all cookies and Prevent cross-site tracking.
If you have Chrome browser in your iPad, let's use the steps below:
1. Select the 3 vertical dots in the top right-hand corner.
2. Select Settings then Advance.
3. Under Privacy and Security select Content Settings.
4. Select Cookies and Turn off Block third-party cookies.
Then, close the browser and re-open them to access your QBO account once more. Furthermore, you can also check here for a guide about cookie management in Safari.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. That way, they can further check with our payroll team as to why you cannot access Payroll using iPad.
If there's anything else that you want us to help, please let me know so we can assist you.
