Hi there,
I have seen that most of your customers were having the same issue, payment receipt. And am one of them!!!
How can we put a note to the footer of a receipt, stating that the client shall be liable for all legal fees incurred for the recovery of any unpaid amount while sending a payment receipt to the Customer?? That's absolutely non-sense...
Our company is paying for a service and you say that the changes cannot be done???
Hi Jen129,
I can see how helpful for you and your business to be able to customise the Payment Receipts in QuickBooks Online. I've added this feedback to our Customer Feedback report to let our Product Developers know about it.

it's now Jan 2023... has QBO added the feature for us to edit the Payment Receipt template?
My customers should be able to see the invoice #'s that they are paying on the payment receipt. At present they can only see each invoice amount they are paying, forcing them to do a lot of unnecessary reconciling and a lot of back and forth with me. it makes us look very unprofessional that we can't provide them with the simplest of details on their payment receipts.
Thanks for joining this thread, @The Lab.
I can see the importance of adding the invoice number to the payment receipt. Currently, this is still unavailable in QuickBooks Online.
In the meantime, you'll want to consider adding the number in the Memo field. This way, your customer can see the invoice number that they are paying on the payment receipt.
I'm also adding this link to help personalize and add specific info to your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to get back to this thread if you have further questions with adding invoice number to the payment receipt. I'll be around to help. Keep safe!
