I currently use Square POS Terminal, in my retail outlet, which is synced to QBO via the Square App in QBO. I have the Square Fees set up in Square to include GST and within QBO it is set up as GST inclusive but when the app brings the transactions in to QBO it is splitting the Fee and GST components and allocating them as GST free transactions. I am currently having to go through manually and correct this problem which is doing my head in. I was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue and have found a fix?
thanks for your reply.
I do use the Connect to Square app in QBO to reconcile my transactions from square and I believe that is where the issue is coming from
ok, so which app do you recommend that is compatible with Australian GST etc as I haven't been able to find anything else that will even slightly work
Hello JenWent,
Thanks for posting in the Community. This is working as designed in QuickBooks Online when it comes to posting Square transactions. As a work around, current workflow involves setting the Amounts are Exclusive of Tax, then assigning GST on purchases to the Square Fee, and deleting the Square OTHER line item. Then, repeat with each subsequent fee.
Furthermore, there was an enhancement raised to our engineers about the Square integration to QBO but was paused as of the moment.
Also, I would recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. That way, they'll be able to check your Square transactions in a secure form.

Yes, that is what I am currently having to do manually and it is a very longwinded and time consuming. I am not understanding how an item is set up in square as GST inclusive and is also set up in QBO as GST inclusive it is being brought in through the app as GST free. Every other item is coming through correctly.
Thank you
Yes, I was using Synder before changing over to the current app but was finding that there were a lot of data errors coming across and I was not able to get any support from them to try to fix it. I ended up giving up and changing
