What is the best way to track receipts in international currency?

You can use and turn on the Multi-currency feature in QuickBooks Online to be able to track receipts in international currency. You'll have to make sure you're using the Essentials and PLUS versions of QuickBooks Online to track multi-currency transactions.

Just a heads up once you turn on multi-currency you can't turn it off. So double-check if you really need the feature.

To turn on the multi-currency feature:

1. Click on the Settings icon, and select Account & Settings.
2. Click on the Advanced tab.
3. Click the Edit or pencil icon in Currency, and select your Home currency.
4. Select the Multicurrency box, and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
5. Click on Save and Close.

Once done, you can add customers, suppliers, and bank accounts in foreign currency to help you record foreign currency transactions.

To record the foreign expense, set up the supplier in foreign currency first and then create the transaction by selecting the supplier created. Here's how:

1. Click on the Expenses tab, and select Suppliers.
2. Click New supplier.
3. Enter the supplier name and information.
4. Under I pay this supplier with the drop-down menu, select the foreign currency you use to pay.
5. Click on Save.
6. Then, to record the receipts or expenses, click on the + New button, and select Expense.
