What happened to the coding facility in the Receipts area? We now cannot allocate Bills or Receipts to their relevant account codes.

Thank you for addressing the challenges you're facing with account visibility in the Receipts area, which hinders the correct allocation of Bills or Receipts, Aspirus. Let us help you streamline this process to ensure accurate account allocation in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Firstly, it's possible that the accounts you're trying to allocate are not visible because they have been set as inactive. Go to your Chart of Accounts (COA) and ensure that you check the option to include inactive accounts. This will let you see all accounts, active or inactive, and verify if the account you are looking for is in the list.

If the account is still active or has been reactivated, you should be able to find the account name in the Accounts/Category field when uploading your bill or receipt. This will help you determine if the account can be located and used for coding.

When uploading your bills or receipts, input the account name into the accounts/category search bar to allocate it correctly. Ensure this is done carefully to maintain accurate financial records.

If the issue persists after checking and adjusting your COA, we can try opening your account in a private browser. This helps isolate the issue by avoiding the influence of stored cache. Here are the shortcut keys in various supported browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

After starting a new private browsing session, please log into your QBO account and check if this works. If yes, clear your browser's cache to help the program run smoothly and eliminate technical issues. You can also use other devices and supported browsers as alternatives.
