Can the employee pay record be linked to the QBO Class?

Hi neil17,

You can assign a class to the employees wages and super, first make sure to set up the classes in QuickBooks Online. Here's hpw:

  1. Click on the Settings icon.
  2. Click on Account & Settings.
  3. Click on Advanced tab, select Categories.
  4. Tick box for Track classes.
  5. Check Warn me when a transaction isn't assigned a class. This is optional, but it's good to turn on, so when you look at reports, you know everything got classified.
Under Assign classes, select One to entire transaction or One to each row in transaction.
  6. Click on Save and then Done.

Then, you'll need to import the list from QuickBooks Online to payroll settings. Here's how:

  1. Log into QuickBooks Online and go to the Employees tab.
  2. Click Payroll settings.
  3. Click on Locations.

From the locations screen, click the Import QuickBooks locations option

  1. Your QuickBooks locations will now be available in the system.

Assign your QuickBooks Online classes to locations in the payroll system by following these steps:

  1. Log into QuickBooks Online and click on the Employees tab.
  2. Click on the Payroll settings and click on Locations.
  3. Click on the location to which you want to assign a class.
  4. From the Classes drop down, choose the class you want to assign to the location.
  5. Click on Save.
