FBT in STP

While entering FBT via STP reporting, should you enter the FBT amount as is or do you have to use any ATO formula to it?

Also, would the FBT amount get pre-populated when trying to lodge the BAS or do you have to enter the amount manually while lodging BAS?

Welcome to the Intuit Community, sarase123.

You'll need to enter the exact amount for your Fringe Benefits or Reportable Fringe Benefit Amounts when reporting via Single Touch Payroll. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Employees tab, and then click on the Reports tab.
  2. Click on Single Touch Payroll.
  3. Click on the Pay event ID number.
  4. Under the RFBA column, click the pencil icon and enter the exact amount for FBT or RFBA.
  5. Click on Save, and then click on the Lodge with ATO button.

Furthermore, Fringe benefits tax amounts are not pre-populated in QuickBooks Online. So you'll have to manually calculate and enter the FBT amount when lodging your BAS. Make sure to turn on FBT Tax first in your GST settings.

Here's how to set up the Fringe benefits tax:

  1. Click on the GST tab.
  2. Click on the Settings button.
  3. Click on Other taxes, and tick the box for Fringe Benefits Tax.
  4. Select a Lodging frequency.
  5. Click on Save.
