Note: There are two chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online - the one is in the Payroll Settings and the other is within the Accounting tab from the left menu bar the moment you log into QuickBooks.
If the payroll journals are not exporting after finalising a payrun, we need to check the Default Accounts from the Payroll Settings and the Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks too to verify if the default accounts are still active. To check the default accounts:
1 Navigate into Employee Tab.
2 Go to Payroll Settings and select Chart of Accounts under Business Settings heading.
3 Click the Default Accounts drop-down.
4 Take note of the default accounts being shown and check each of them from the Import Accounts button at the upper-right (to see if these default accounts are still active).
5 Click the Save Accounts List button once you have fully verified that the default accounts are active.
6 Go back to the Default Account page and hit Save.
7 Open up the payrun and try re-exporting the journals.
If happen that payroll journals are still not exporting after exhausting all the basic troubleshooting, you can contact the Customer Care Support Team for any further assistance.
