How to show the GST of 7% (Singapore Taxes) for our tax invoice?

Showing the GST tax in your invoices is just a few clicks, @userhuini.

I'm here to help you show the Singapore tax in your invoices. Thus, you can add taxes in your QuickBooks Online without a moment's delay.

Let's create a GST rate for your Singapore taxes if you didn't set up it yet. Then make sure to turn on the radio button under Action. This way, the specific rate will show up on your invoice page.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes tab on the left side.
  2. Click the Edit GST drop-down and select Edit rates.
  3. Choose Add tax rates and complete the necessary fields.
  4. Tap Save. Make sure the radio button under Action is turn on.

       5. Choose the +New tab on the upper left side and pick Invoice

       6. Click the GST drop-down and choose the rates you've previously created.

       7. Enter the needed information, then tap Save and close

Additionally, you can always run any customer reports to track all the data you've entered into the system. Then customise it to show specific information. For more details about customising, check out this article: Run reports in QBO

Lastly, check out these pages below about handling taxes, sales forms, reports, and other related matters.

How to show the GST of 7% (Singapore Taxes) for our tax invoice?

Let's make sure the GST percentage rate will show up on the invoice, userhuini.

If you have already set up and created a GST rate for your tax, you'll want to make sure to select the Inclusive of Tax option so it would show the 7% percent rate on the invoice. I've added a screenshot so you'll be guided visually.

For your reference, you can also run different kinds of reports so you'll be able to get the information you need. Then, memorise them to save the current customisation settings. Please check out this article: Memorise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Keep in touch if you have any other concerns with your taxes. I'll be here to help you.

Thank you for the prompt reply, @userhuini. Let me help clear things up for you.

If you're referring to the actual "7%" to appear on the invoice, what you can do is place it on the Message on invoice field. It's a memo field, and any text in that field will appear when you print the invoice. Any other option to show the 7% is unavailable.

In case you need to edit the appearance of your sales forms, refer to this article: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

Post a reply if you have other questions about sales forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll be around to help you out. Have a nice day!

Thanks for keeping in touch with us here about your GST concern, @userhuini.

Yes, I have here another resolution with your GST tax rate in QuickBooks Online. Such that your customer will see the exact rate in their invoices.

Let's make sure that the GST summary box is checked on your invoice template. This way, the 7% will show up when you print or email the invoice.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Custom form styles
  2. Click the Edit hyperlink to the existing invoice template or New style drop-down arrow and pick Invoice
  3. Select the Content tab and tap the pencil icon at the bottom part.
  4. Check the GST summary box and hit Save

       5. Go back to the +New button and pick the Invoice

       6. Choose the 7% in the GST field.

       7. Select Inclusive tax in the Amounts are box.

       8. Hit Customise at the bottom part and pick the exact template.

       9.  Click the Print or Preview to check the sales form.

I appreciate for the immediate response, @userhuini.

Thanks for the clarification on the types of taxes you've used in your invoice. I have here additional information about your GST tax rates in QuickBooks Online.

Since you're using the Exclusive of Tax, I'd recommend selecting that option in the Amounts are field. The tax rate will still show in the sales form as long as the GST summary on your template is checked. Also, make sure to use the exact template. See the sample screenshot for your source.

I've added some articles that might help you handle your tax rates in QuickBooks.
