why the 9% GST rate only shown in the dropdownon the Tax for date before 1 March 2024, whereby 1 March it will disappear?

Hello, Sally69.

I understand that you have noticed a change in the availability of the 9% GST rate in QuickBooks Online. Before March 1, 2024, the 9% GST rate is visible in the dropdown options, but it disappears after that date. Most common issues in QBO are usually a result of too much accumulated historical data. There are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes unusual behavior. Let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once it's fixed, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to help speed up your browsers in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers. This will help us determine if the issue is specific to your browser.

Hi,

I also face the same issue. I have tried to use an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. But the outcome is the same. I also cleared my cache.  Any expense invoice entered into QB in the GST dropdown box ONLY shows Out of scope. I can't select or manually key 9% TX.

Pls Advice

DEAR QBO,

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO RESOLVE THE ERROR. Our stack of SUPPLIER INVOICES is piling up. Pls refer to the screenshot. As you can see from the attached photo under GST only Out of Scope is available. Both SR 9% or 9% SR is NOT available.

We appreciate you for bringing this one to our attention, Leon18.

We are proactively following up with our engineering team to get the latest updates on the progress of this issue where GST 9% is missing when recording a transaction dated 2/29/2024. Rest assured, we are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. We understand that this issue has been causing you inconvenience, and we want to assure you that our Product Engineering Team is actively working on resolving it.

Our workaround for the moment is to do the following:

  1. Create an invoice or any transaction with a different date (prior date).
  2. Enter the details and select the GST Rate of 9%.
  3. Save the transaction.
  4. Edit it again change the date to 2/29/2024 and save the transaction.
