I know how important managing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription to fit your business needs, @gary-smartskill. That's why I'm here to help you perform some troubleshooting steps so you can successfully downgrade your plan.
Unexpected errors and system behaviors in QBO are usually caused by the stored files in your browser. Once the cache is holding too much data, it can affect the browsing and system's performance. Let's isolate this by logging in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:
Once signed in, go to the Account and Settings page, then select the Billing & Subscription menu to choose a new plan that fits your business.
If you're able to downgrade in the incognito page, return to your default browser and clear its cache and cookies. This way, you'll be able to refresh the system and remove older data that cause viewing and performance issues. However, if the issue persists, I'd recommend using other supported browsers in downgrading your account.
Additionally, you can go back to your previous plan whenever you need to. To upgrade your plan, kindly refer to this article for the detailed steps: Upgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription. It also contains a video tutorial on how to perform the process.
Through the Account and Settings page, you can manage your company details, view your subscription information, update your credit card, and make changes to your billing information. You can learn more about the things you can perform through this page by visiting this article: How to update your subscription and billing details.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help. Take care always.
