Did Quickbook allows for duplicate names in Product & Services only recently?

Hi all, 

Recently, I discovered that I can create duplicate names for both services and non-inventory products. QBO does not check for duplicate names. However, it does validate duplicate names for bundled services. 

 

Can anybody tell me if this is a bug or something?

I recognize you want to confirm why the bundle under Products and Services doesn't allow the duplicate name item, denniskflee. I'm here to shed some light on this concern.

 

Please know that this behavior isn't a bug in QuickBooks Online. Bundle doesn't allow the double entry name for items since you can add or group these non-inventory and services you sell together. With that, you need to set up a unique name for each.

In the past, I thought I remember that service and non-inventory doesn't allow for duplicate names. But now it does. 

 

1. Does QBO allows duplicates since 2022?

2. Does it make sense to have duplicates name since it may accidentally mess up with current service with the same name?

QuickBooks doesn't support the entry of duplicate names for Products and Services to prevent mess and maintain the accuracy of the item or sales tracking.
